I honestly went to sleep last night clinging to the hope that Clinton would pull it together in PA, MI, WI, and NH somehow. I felt that if I just thought and visualized and relaxed and, yes, I prayed, that we’d get the result that almost everyone I know wanted.
But now, this is what we’ve got.
So, to paraphrase Matt Damon’s character in The Martian, we’re going to have to ART THE SHIT OUT OF THIS SITUATION. Or those of us who are inclined can actually be like Matt Damon and Science the shit out of it. And/or Queer the shit out of it, Muslim the shit out of it, Woman the shit of out it, Immigrant the shit out of it, Dark-Skinned the shit out of it, Disabled the shit out of it, Decency the shit out of it, Dignity the shit out of it, Fairness the shit out of it, Unions the shit out of it. We have to LOVE the shit out of it, ORGANIZE the shit out of it and TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER the shit out of it. The people who voted for Trump will — most of them — suffer too, and we need to UNITY the shit out of it with them, when they eventually come around.
We have brains, and we have hearts. We matter and we care. We can do this.
