What Is Metamodern?

We’ve been here since April 2013 investigating metamodernism by cataloguing instances of this emerging cultural and aesthetic turn. Our exemplars on this blog come mainly from pop culture.

Briefly, we start from the assumption that so called “metamodernist works” engage the conflicts between modernist conviction and postmodern relativism, in part by embodying an aesthetic that braids the various epistemic perspectives with an emphasis on felt experience.
